Zig Zag wins the Horse & Hound Foxhunter Second Round

The June Delight show at The Hand Equestrian Centre hosted a Horse & Hound Foxhunter second round this weekend with forty eight starters all aiming to take home one of the two Horse of the Year Show (HOYS) qualification tickets that were up for grabs.

It was Sammie Jo Coffin from Cornwall who took the top spot. Having already qualified for HOYS in the EquestrianClearance.com Newcomers second round a few weeks ago riding James Luker’s Zabantos. Sammie added this Horse & Hound Foxhunter qualification to her HOYS tally this time partnering another stallion owned by James, the bay seven year old Zig Zag.

Second place and the other HOYS ticket was Robert Maguire riding his own grey nine year old stallion Acoretto II. This is Robert’s second horse that has qualified for the Horse & Hound Foxhunter having already picked up qualification riding his own seven year old Elixir St just two weeks ago.

Third place and picking up the third of five Cushionbed British Showjumping Scope Festival qualification tickets was Surrey based Tom Monaghan riding Lisa Roper’s nine year old bay gelding Kavanagh IV.

Picking up both fourth and fifth position was Nottingham based Alex Thompson riding for Greenacres Stud. He took fourth place on the eight year old bay mare Dignity III and fifth place on Enchilada 4.
