BRITISH SHOWJUMPING NATIONAL COACHING CONFERENCE 2015

British Showjumping is delighted to announce details for the British Showjumping Conference 2015. This year, the conference will feature;

 

  • World Class Performance Manager for Showjumping Di Lampard who will talk about her approach and preparations this year in qualifying the team for Rio, giving international team experience to new combinations and preparations for Rio.
  • Sports Coach UK, Head of Policy, Chris Corfield who will share some insights and learning around the future of participation in the UK that will have a direct impact on coaching
  • International Coach Lars Meyer Zu Bexten has been part of the German national trainer team since 2005 and coach to the Junior and Young Rider Squad from 2011. Lars will share some of his ideas and methods while coaching

This conference is one not to miss for all equine professionals, coaches, instructors, equine students and anyone with an interest in horses and coaching.

Tickets: A small fee of £25 for British Showjumping members and £30 for non-members will be charged [includes tea/coffee on arrival]

World Class Performance Manager for Showjumping Di Lampard 

Di has responsibility for the structure, management and coaching provision of the GBR senior Jumping Team, she leads a dedicated group of athletes, grooms and owners and works closely with World Class colleagues and British Showjumping, with the primary aim of delivering podium places at championship level.

During her career Di was awarded numerous accolades, standing leading lady rider for eight years and representing Great Britain in two World Equestrian Games, two European Championships and around 50 Nations Cup Teams.

Chris Corfield Head of Policy, Sports Coach UK

Chris works as Head of Policy for Sports coach UK and has been working on the new Coaching Plan for England. The new plan is based on current research and future predictions about sport participation and needs for coaching. The mission is to provide high quality coaching that meets the needs of all, across all sporting environments, whether

ambitions are to have fun, fulfil potential or follow in the footsteps of heroes.

Lars Meyer Zu Bexten 

A successful showjumper in his younger years, Lars Meyer zu Bexten is now an international trainer working with showjumping riders and horses.

He has worked with the DOKR for several years as a trainer of the national German team. In 2011 Lars Meyer zu Bexten took over from Dietmar Gugler and also undertook the role of national trainer for the Juniors and Young Riders.              

In 2004 the Fédération Equestre Internationale [FEI] also gave Lars Meyer zu Bexten the task of setting up an international coaching system as an FEI tutor. With two major shows being held at his own centre - the German Friendships and Bexter Hof Open - the business administration graduate is already a respected show manager, sports administrator and event organiser in the sector.
