Dear Sussex Member

Just a quick update on all matters from Sussex BS.

The new area committee have now had two meetings kindly hosted by Chloe at Hickstead planning the year ahead.

Firstly the Sussex Area Ball planned for the 31st March at the Crowne Plaza at Felbridge has been postponed due to a lack of uptake on ticket sales. We are looking to reschedule later in the year and will inform all and look forward to your support.

Senior training has also been organized with Maria Green at Petley Wood on March 10th, priority for these sessions are for Retraining of Racehorse members under the new initiative with British Showjumping, but non ROR members are welcome for separate sessions, please book with Maria directly by email info@mariagreen.co.uk

On the training front, we would like to ask members who they would like as visiting trainers to come into Sussex for Area training ? email ian@ibequestrianservices.co.uk

The Sussex Area junior show is booked for Petley Wood for 28th April, the schedule should be available within a couple of weeks. Sponsors, however big or small are being sought out, please let us know if you wish to be involved.

There has been a very positive response to the new ’Petley Wood’ Sussex Area Open Championship class at the South of England show, with nearly 40 combinations already qualified for the final, further qualifiers are being run throughout the spring at Felbridge, Coombelands, Pyecombe and Petley incorporated into a Foxhunter/1.20 Open class.

Finally…We are proposing to be awarding the ‘Hoscars’ again at the Ball, if you know of a worthy recipient for these off the cuff awards, please get in touch .
