Bonheiden Blogs!

Some of the Coaches and riders had the exciting opportunity to travel to Bonheiden this weekend. They have all been busy writing a short blog about their experience. here s Mandy McGlynn's blog from the weekend who went along as a coach:

"September 25th I started a 4 day International Coaching Experience in Bonheiden for myself and fellow coaches Mandy Frost, Phillipa Mckiever and Fred Burgenoff. Supported by Excel our coach educators were Corinne Bracken and Matt Lanni who were also managing the young riders on their International development experience.

The show was an International 2* with two world ranking classes at 1.45m and the smallest classes being 1.20m.We were set tasks which included walking courses, assessing if they rode how they walked and recognising how different riders approached the courses, as each fence related to the next with stride choices. We also compared countries to see if there was a connection with the way the riders were coached and the way all the riders approached the tracks.

We filmed both British and foreign riders to compare the different technical skills of the riders. We also observed at the collecting ring seeing different ways riders warmed their horses up and had the opportunity to shadow Corinne and Matt with our Young Riders.

We all found the whole experience invaluable in our capacity as coaches."

Fred Bergendorf and Callum Tusler's blogs are still to come!
