SENIOR CATEGORY 1 & 2 SHOWS – SCOTLAND ONLY
Tuesday 02 June 2015
After discussions with the show venues in Scotland regarding Senior Category 1 and Category 2 shows now both being able to run British Novice, Discovery and Newcomers classes, the venues felt as they run these shows on the same weekends that it was diluting their numbers at each show.
The venues agreed to trial, in Scotland only, running Category 1 shows without the British Novice, Discovery and Newcomers classes and incorporate the Amateur series classes and Open classes to accommodate the two different levels of rider and target a separate market for each level of show.
Please note this does not include the venues in the North of Scotland due to the greater travelling distance, so you will see a British Novice, Discovery and Newcomers class in a Category 1 schedule at Cabin Equestrian Centre, Ellands Farm and Tillyoch while a Category 2 show is running in the Central Belt of Scotland.
This is a trial in Scotland and will be revised at the dates meeting in September 2015 with all the Scottish show venues.
Please note this is only for Scotland and is not included in the Senior Cat 1 Shows south of the Border.
The venues also decided due to travelling distance and cost to competitors that the same Category of show could be run by one venue in the North of Scotland and one venue in the Central Belt, creating a North-South divide to give the competitors more opportunities to compete closer to home, reducing travelling time and costs. This will take effect from September 2015.
