SCOTLAND'S LESLEY ROSS AND PEREUSA QUALIFY FOR THE NEW BRONZE LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP AT HOYS 2014.

Congratulations to 29 year old Lesley Ross and Pereusa, owned by Lesley, in qualifying for HOYS 2014 in the first year of the new Bronze League which was launched in April 2014 with a qualification structure that will allow eligible horse and rider combinations to qualify for a Semi Final and the chance of a ticket for the Horse of the Year Show Final. 

Lesley is delighted to qualify and tells us a little about herself, and in achieving this goal:

“Not long to go now and the nerves have kicked in!

I qualified for the Bishop Burton Semi-Finals in August after taking 1st and 2nd ranking in the Scottish Points League. The semi final was a tough 3 round competition which produced only 6 treble clears! I managed to hold onto the lead well but was pipped at the post! I was just so delighted to have qualified that 2nd place was more than enough!

Pereusa (Princess in the stable) has had some time off since the final so I took her out last weekend to make sure she was feeling fresh... she came out and won her class so I'm feeling confident about making the long trip south for the final. 440 miles to be precise! Princess thrives under pressure and the spookier the arena and atmosphere the better, she rises to the occasion so fingers crossed!

It won’t be easy down at HOYS, the competition will be fierce with everyone trying their best. I just want to enjoy the experience to the full as this is a once in a lifetime chance for me and my horse......she's earned it! “

Bronze Regional League allows riders jumping 0.90m - 1.10m the chance to qualify for HOYS.

The Bronze League Championships will be run as a handicap competition at Horse of the Year Show. A total of fourteen horse/rider combinations will qualify for the Championships.

The Final will be run under Table A10 and the heights for the Championship Finals will be as follows: Bronze League Final – 1.10m max in the first round
