Nicole Lockhead Anderson continues her winning streak in the National 148cm Championship Final

There was some spectacular pony showjumping on display today on day three of the British Showjumping National Championships, held at the NAEC Stoneleigh, Stoneleigh Park in Warwickshire. The final class of the day in Arena 1 was the National 148cm Championship Final which was contested by 25 riders. With only one rider jumping clear in the first round, there was no need for a jump off and no doubt who was to be crowned champion.

The 15 year old showjumper from Aberdeen, Nicole Lockhead Anderson, continued her winning streak of the week, taking the win with 13 year old Claggan Gypsy Delight owned by Christine Graham. The combination have only been together since February this year so Nicole was delighted with her win: “He is such a character to be around and I trusted him to go clear. This is ‘his height’ so I was confident he would do well.”

As an Olympia qualifier, the top 3 riders will qualify for The London International Horse Show in December subject to verification. The fastest rider with just 4 faults, placing second, was Madison Jamison with Bodyssee des Avelines. Coming in third, also with 4 faults, was Elloise Smit with Newtown Samson.
