Kirstie Boyd claims Dodson & Horrell 1.05m National Amateur Second Rounds at Muirmill Equestrian Centre

The Dodson & Horrell National Amateur Second Rounds held at Muirmill Equestrian Centre in Kilmarnock, Ayrshire saw accomplished combinations coming forward to compete across the 1.05m and 1.10m classes.

With qualification for the Dodson & Horrell National Amateur Championships held at Aintree Equestrian Centre in Liverpool during the 14th – 19th November in each of the riders sights, these two second rounds proved to be fiercely contested.

Dodson & Horrell 1.05m National Amateur Second Round

Keen to claim one of the qualification place on offer, Kirstie Boyd from Kilbirnie, Ayrshire held her nerve to deliver two solid clear rounds for first place. Riding her 11-year-old bay mare Elle Clover, this combination posted the fast clear round in the five horse jump off, stopping the clock in 46.06 second.     

Second place went to Katie Mcgregor from Avon Bridge, Falkirk as she rode her own 12-year-old bay gelding, Fagas Adare to the final double clear of the class in 47.88 seconds.

Claire Simpson from Stranraer, Wigtownshire jumped in to third place with Galwaybay Blanco, a seven-year-old chestnut gelding owned by Harry Rodgers. This pair had a pole down to finish in 51.79 seconds with 4 faults.

5th Jennifer Beattie & V L V Cummerland – 0/8 – 50.38 seconds
