Coaching Workshops:

There are six new workshops being run by horsescotland coming up, these are:

• UKCC Level Three Day, either currently on a course and need some support or looking to up skill to level three and wondering what it involves? This day is for you!
o Morris Equestrian Centre, Thursday 20th October 2016, 9.30am – 4pm

• SCUK Safeguarding and Protecting Children Workshop
o Morris Equestrian Centre, Thursday 20th October 2016, 6.30pm – 9.30pm

• UKCC Mentor workshop - What’s involved in being a Mentor?
o Forthbank Stadium, Stirling, Thursday 3rd November 2016, 9.30am – 1pm

• sportscotland Coaching Connect Growth & Maturation Workshop
o Forthbank Stadium, Stirling, Thursday 3rd November 2016, 2pm – 5pm

• SCUK Safeguarding and Protecting Children Workshop
o Forthbank Stadium, Stirling, Thursday 17th November 2016, 3pm – 6pm

• SCUK Delivering Engaging Coaching Sessions
o Forthbank Stadium, Stirling, Thursday 17th November 2016, 6.30pm – 9.30pm

These courses are all free to attend as they are funded by horsescotland and sportscotland. If you plan to attend more than one session on the same day please note that tea and coffee will be provided during each session but food will not be provided.

In addition to these workshops there are an additional two self-funded workshops being run by Active Advantage.

These workshops are:
• • Developing your Mentoring Skills (Thursday 17th November, Glasgow)

• • Mastering your Mentoring Skills (Friday 18th November, Glasgow)

We are hosting a High Performing Conference, a new UKCC Level 3 is starting before the end of the year, other UKCC courses are available and multiple new Coaching workshops are fast approaching too.

horsescotland High Performing Conference
horsescotland is running a 2 day High Performing Conference that is open to all Coaches, Riders etc. that are looking to develop their skills to move forward in their chosen field.
Presentation Topics/ Presenters:

Over the 2 days there will be a variety of presentations and practical sessions including:

• Core strength and conditioning by John Van Appledoorn and Tjalling van den Berg
• Anti-doping in Coach Education and Performance Athletes – Sophie Thomas
• Concussion and Injury Management - Dr Andy Malyon,
• Application of science to the performance horse and rider - Mark Fisher and Russell Guire
• Farrier - Ben Benson
• Benefits of the warm-up and cool down - Dr Rachel Murray
• Running the equestrian Business for the Rider/ Coach - Sarah Armstrong
• and many more……..
Costs:

Two days- £90
One day - £50

UKCC Level 3:

A new UKCC Level 3 course is being run at SRUC Oatridge College and SNEC.

The first two dates are Monday 5th December 2016 and Monday 23rd January 2017, the further approx. eight dates will be arranged by the group.

This course costs £1500 which is payable up front, however there is 70% of funding available from sportscotland (this is paid in two payments 50% at the start of the course and 50% on completion of the course.) The deadline for applying for this course as well as funding from sportscotland is Friday 4th November 2016.

If you are interested in doing a discipline specific qualification then you will need to have approval from the discipline before applying.
