Amy Morris wins the 128cm Championship at Horse of the Year Show
Monday 09 October 2017
SCOTTISH Border rider Amy Morris won the 128cms final at Horse of the Year Show with Madonna.
From 22 starters just two riders recorded a first round clear, joining Amy was Aimee Jones and Koda. Drawn second to go she knew the target she needed to beat and despite the pressure cruised to victory by almost five seconds.
"It is an amazing feeling," said 12-year-old Amy. “I qualified both of my ponies at the same qualifier in May, and I have been really looking forward to coming here. I didn't want to go too fast in in the jump-off in case I had a pole down, and she jumped really well. I am delighted.
"It means a lot to me to win here. I have always wanted to jump at Horse of the Year Show, and I had a lot of friends and family here to watch.”
