Step up to Gold Northern Riders Apply Now

Step up to Gold 2015/2016 Programme

Applications have opened for the second year of Step up to Gold.

The programme welcomes on board the new sponsors the Newbridge Group who wants to show continued support for the programme after seeing the success the programme brought for their rider on the first year, along with the funding partners Sport England. The aim of the year long programme is to develop riders and establish them at 1.35/1.40m Gold League level.

The programme will consist of:

  • National and regional training days with Matt Lanni and a regional coach.
  • Strength and Condition coaches working individually with riders to develop a training programme
  • Sport Science support including horse physio, saddle experts, veterinary talks, anti-doping talks and travelling abroad workshops.
  • Coach and organisational support at a national show abroad and an international show in the UK
  • Funding will cover training fees, sport science support, strength and condition coaches and some other associated costs such as entry fees and stabling.

There will be four training and selection days held in October (North, South, East and West), where those who fulfil the criteria are welcome to come along for the session shown on the invitation they will receive from us, once their application form has been confirmed. From these days two or three riders from each region will be selected to go forward for the 12 month training programme. Please note there will be a one-off fee of £35 to attend the initial training and selection day after which the programme will on majority be funded by Sport England and the Newbridge Group.

This is a great opportunity for members to gain the training and support needed to step up the levels.
