Olivia Dale's round up from Lanaken and HOYS
Thursday 11 October 2012
We had and amazing time at the World Young Horse Championships in Lanaken the other week, the Zhangersheide Showground was just unbelievable. My bay stallion, Chopin, went clear on the first two days qualifying for the final. There were nearly 300 in a class and the times were so tight, I don't think any of us we're used to having to go so fast, even in the first rounds! Unfortunately I had a fence down in the final on him, I got a little bit nervous and ended up making a silly mistake as I was trying to catch the time. But it was such a good experience jumping in the big ring and certainly put me in good stead for HOYS. At HOYS Casparall came 5th in the 6yr olds, where he jumped a great double clear, so a very good way to finish off the season!
