North Cumbria Area Show Report

Brothers Arran and Duncan Sloan  competing at their first BS show got us off to a flying start taking first and second place in the Pony British Novice with Angel Weston winning the open section.

Alice Atkinson was the winner of the 90cm novice with Charlotte Thomlinson taking second and Angel Weston Taking third place.

The pony progressive 1m saw Alex Mchattie take her first of three wins at the show!  She was first with Expressive Hopscotch and took second place with It’s a puzzle who went one better in the next class to win the Pony Foxhunter/1.10 open. 

In the senior classes Claire Walker won the 90cm open with Alexia and Laura Graham took second with Gratina who also went on to win the Discovery.  In the British Novice it was a win for Joshua Fearnley with Alecon, Molly Waugh took second with Incanto H and Michelle Byrne took third with Lux Eclipse this class was placed to seventh!  Taking second place in the discovery was Billy Davidson and Amy Ion took third place.  Again great entries in this class meant placing’s went down to eighth.  In the 1.00m open Polly Douglas took first and second place with Jon Fletcher and Chemo Z taking third.   It was a win for husband and wife team Johnathan and Joanne Dixon in the Newcomers/1.10 open.  Johnathan winning the Newcomer section with Eastboy B and Joanne wining the Open section with Daydream.  Bradley Fisher took second place in the Newcomers and Adele Mitchell took second place in the Open section.  It was another first and second for Alex Mchattie with Rhodanites Rowenberry and Sonata in the Sports Horse Classic Blue Ribband with Amy Allison taking third with Volari.  The final class of the day saw all five competitors go through to the jump off and it was Jon Fletcher with Vote Z who took the win.
