Cheshire and South Merseyside News

Wednesday 29 June 2011

The Cheshire and South Merseyside Area Show was again held on the all weather surface at Somerford Park on the early May Bank Holiday, and although it was a blustery weekend, entries held up well. Chief beneficiary in the senior classes was James Shore who gained  a winning hat trick.

Congratulations are due to Beth Austin who won both of her regional finals riding Zeester. At Church Farm, Mawdsley, Beth produced a fabulous triple clear in the Discovery to finish 5 secs ahead. The pair were again in fine form at Bold Heath where they again jumped another triple clear to win.

Adrian Marsh fielded two Cheshire and South Merseyside Area teams at Bold Heath, the B team consisting of Mary Marsh, Julie Finney, Peter Shaw and Caroline Rios were pushed all the way to a jump off, but they had to settle for second place.Finishing fourth were the junior A team comprising Rebecca Marsh, Ben Lamb, Jessie Tamman and Lauren Edwards.

It is hoped training with Eve Staveley will take place some time in the summer holidays. This training will be mainly aimed at junior riders, but if there is enough interest senior dates are a possibility.
