Well Done to Cambridgeshire Rider Ellie Archdeacon!

Field House Equestrian in Uttoxeter, Staffordshire hosted the sixth Blue Chip Pony Newcomers second rounds on Sunday 30th June 2013. The second round attracted a total of 51 starting combinations.

Up for grabs at this second round were two direct qualifying tickets for the Blue Chip Pony Newcomers Championship Final at the Horse of the Year Show (HOYS) and all of the starting combinations were aiming to take one of these tickets home.

Of all the starters, 16 combinations made it through into the jump off and they were all aiming to achieve treble clears. Four combinations duly achieved this, which meant that the places were allocated according to the times.

The winner’s spot was taken by 14 year-old Ellie Archdeacon from Cambridgeshire on board Greenacres Bobby, a 10 year-old grey gelding owned by Dionne Walker. Ellie steered Greenacres Bobby cleanly over the jump off fences in 43.33 seconds to achieve a treble clear.

A big thank you goes to Ellie’s Mum (Liz) for helping her at home, her Dad for the support and Sue Harris & Zoe Warren for all their help.
