The College Equestrian Centre KBIS Insurance British Novice Second Round.

Saturday saw The College Equestrian Centre in Keysoe, Bedfordshire host a KBIS Insurance British Novice second round. With forty nine starters there were two Cushionbed British Showjumping Scope Festival tickets available.

There were six combinations that made it through to the final jump off all fighting it out for the top two places to gain the qualification.

It was Buckingham based Emma Jo Slater who came out on top riding David Roger’s five year old dark bay mare, Belle Mona. This combination were just outside qualifying at the Oxfordshire area show in June so Emma wasn’t going to leave anything to chance putting in a quick jump off time of 33.98 seconds and leaving all the fences up for a clear was good enough for the win.

Second place went to seventeen year old Jessica Large from Hertfordshire. Riding her mother’s (Jane) nine year old bay mare Myer, Jessica jumped clear in a time of 35.87 seconds to pick up second place and the final Cushionbed British Showjumping Scope Festival ticket of the day.

Taking third place and just outside qualifying was Warwickshire base Mark Townshend riding his own five year old chestnut gelding Bommel H who jumped clear in a time of 37.08 seconds.
