St Gallen FEI Nations Cup Squad is announced

Next week will see five British Riders travel out to Switzerland for the St Gallen FEI Nations Cup. The show will take place between 2nd and 5th June.
Britain’s squad of five who will travel out to contest against eight other Nations are Scott Brash, Ben Maher, Nick Skelton, Robert Smith and Tim Stockdale.
Scotland’s young Scott Brash will partner his World Equestrian Games horse Intertoy Z who is owned by his father, Stanley. This combination made their first appearance at this level last year in La Baule where they put in a solid performance, jumping clear in the second round.
Ben Maher from Hertfordshire and Tripple X III have recently returned from Linz where they won the 80,000€ Grand Prix. Tripple X III is a nine year old black stallion whom Ben jointly owns with Quainton Stud.
Warwickshire’s Nick Skelton will ride Beverly Widdowson’s ten year old grey stallion, Carlo. They were members of the La Baule FEI Nations Cup team which finished in overall fourth and has recently travelled out to Rome to compete in the second FEI Nations Cup of the series.
Another Warwickshire rider Robert Smith with the scopey eleven year old bay stallion Talan a horse he jointly owns with Di and Pennie Cornish will join the team. Robert and Talan were also members of the La Baule FEI Nations Cup team.
King George V Gold Cup winners Tim Stockdale and Fresh Direct Kalico Bay will also be joining the above out in Switzerland. The ten year old bay gelding is owned by Colin Garrett, who are long standing owners of Tim’s. Tim is currently based at his yard in Northampton
Accompanying squad will be World Class Showjumping Performance Manager Rob Hoekstra who will also be acting as Chief d’Equipe.
