Louise leaps to victory in the EquestrianClearance.com Newcomers second round

This week has seen Addington Manor Equestrian Centre in Buckinghamshire host their Summer Classic Show. Kicking off on Tuesday with the EquestrianClearance.com Newcomers second round the show got off to a good start.

With ninety five starters competition was fierce for the two Horse of the Year show (HOYS) tickets and five Cushionbed British Showjumping Scope festival tickets that were up for grabs.

Making the journey up from Crawley in West Sussex was twenty five year old Louise Pavitt. Partnering Brendon Studs six year old brown gelding Lupicos, Louise kicked off the show in style winning the class and gaining her third HOYS qualification of the season.

Coming in a close second for the other HOYS ticket was eighteen year old Abbe Burchmore-Eames from Hertfordshire. Riding her own six year old bay gelding Rubys the pair jumped three foot perfect rounds in a jump off time of 37.09 seconds.

Just missing out on HOYS qualification but getting another chance at the Cushionbed British Showjumping Scope festival was third placed Amy Duncan based in Doncaster. Amy was riding her own six year old chestnut stallion Adagio II who jumped three clear rounds in 38.78 seconds.

Fourth place went to Tracey Priest from Surrey who was the last rider for jump all three rounds clear. Tracey rode her own six year old bay gelding Millfield Ultymate. The final Cushionbed British Showjumping Scope festival ticket went to fifth placed Matthew Boddy. Matthew from South Humberside was partnering Rachael Evison’s six year old black mare Azarah, who had an unlucky four faults in the jump off.

The 2011 Horse of the Year Show will take place between the 4th and 9th October at Birmingham’s NEC. The 2011 Cushionbed British Showjumping Scope Festival will take place from Sunday 28th August to Saturday 3rd September at the Stafford County Showground.
