It’s a 1, 2, 3 for the GBR riders.
Tuesday 12 April 2011
With numerous riders all over the European circuits preparing horses for the up and coming season GBR are still showing they are a force to be reckoned with.
On the second week of the tour in Vilamoura, Portugal GBR riders dominated the Grand Prix with five combinations in the top seven places. Geoff Billington from Nantwich, Cheshire had two rides in the jump off. The first being Patricia Fraser ‘s ten year old bay gelding Uppercut II who jumped clear in 38.85 seconds, followed by his own and Patricia Fraser’s thirteen year old bay gelding Rosinus, who also jumped clear but in a time of 39.78 seconds coming in just behind Uppercut II. Although they both jumped super jump off rounds they were not quite quick enough finishing just behind first placed Paul Barker from Northallerton. Paul partnered the Temple Stud’s fourteen year old chestnut gelding Temple Ryefield who jumped clear in a time of 36.20 seconds.
Maldon, Essex based Laura Renwick riding the dark bay ten year old gelding Roller Coaster came home in sixth place, with one fence down in the jump off in a time of 37.52 seconds. Seventh place went to sixteen year old Chloe Aston from Tring in Hertfordshire riding her mothers (Joanne) Kolibri Classic. Chloe had one fence down in a time of 38.13 seconds.
