Great Britain has a double win in Bordeaux

Last weekend saw many of the world’s top riders all make an appearance in Bordeaux, France for the CSI5*W International competition which ran from Friday through to Sunday.
It was Great Britain’s Guy Williams from Canterbury Kent that kicked off the start of the show by winning the €6,000 prize fund class with his own fifteen year old chestnut mare, Orage.  Producing a great clear in a time of 23.17seconds they were just fast enough to relegate Brazilian rider Alvaro De Miranda to second place who finished in a fractionally slower time of 23.81seconds.
Guy also went on to take second place in the €10,000 class the following day with Titus II, another one of his talented horses where the pair completed the 1.45m course clear in a time that couldn’t be beaten.
Britain’s second win of the show came in the €25,000 class where Nottinghamshire based Michael Whitaker riding Hailey Adams twelve year old chestnut gelding Simon II.  Michael, showing his immense class and experience by jumping clear in a time of 54.32 seconds to take the lead from Simon Delestre from France with Orphee de I’Illon.
