Great Britain Finish Second in Aachen Nations Cup!

Rob Hoekstra’s quartet has finished in second place in this evenings fifth leg of the 2011 FEI Nations Cup series held under floodlights in Aachen, Germany.
 
British pathfinder Guy Williams riding his own Titus II finished with just a single pole on the floor in both rounds. Nick Skelton riding Carlo, owned by Beverley Widdowson lowered two fences in both rounds whilst Scott Brash riding Stanley Brash’s Intertoy Z produced a foot perfect clear in the first round but was unlucky to roll a single pole in the second to finish with four faults. Anchorman Michael Whitaker with Beatrice Mertens’ Amai II emulated Scott’s performance to also finish both rounds with just four faults.
 
Victory went to the Netherlands with Great Britain sharing second place with Ireland and the home team Germany.

Yesterday’s second place puts Great Britain into fourth place on the series leaderboard with the next round taking place at the All England Jumping Course, Hickstead on Friday 29th July 2011.
