Essex Rider Emily Parker takes the February NAF Shining Star

11 year old Emily Parker from Chelmsford in Essex has been awarded the NAF Shining Star Award for February.

Lead coach for the Essex Junior Academy, Annette Lewis nominated Emily for this award in recognition of her improvement and attitude to Showjumping.

Emily had been living and competing in Cyprus for a number of years and returned to England with her pony (Check It Out) last year. Since moving back to England she has come on leaps and bounds, and has adjusted to the different way of training extremely well.

Concentrating on improving her riding Emily now has regular flatwork and jumping lessons while also spending every spare minute at the yard. The beginning of the year saw Emily compete at her first affiliated show where was named Leading Rider as a result of winning four classes.

Tracey Lloyd, NAF (Natural Animal Feeds) commented, “It is clear to see Emily’s passion and progression within her sport and we at NAF congratulate her successful transition into UK competitions - Well done Emily!’

The NAF Shinning Star Award was introduced when NAF became a British Showjumping Business Partner. The award is for members of a Junior Academy who have shown a great deal of commitment, progression and outstanding behaviour along with their riding ability and much more. Riders are nominated by their lead coach, and then judged and awarded by NAF to one person each month.
