Essex Area British Showjumping Pony Show Report
Thursday 19 May 2011
Thank you to Equestrian Events Ltd who let Essex hijack one of their pony dates in order to run the Essex Area Pony Show at Towerlands Park on Saturday 7th May 2011.
Individual class winners were thrilled to win saddle cloths (although some will have to keep them until they move onto bigger ponies or even horses!).
The 70cms open was won by a prolific area 40 winner Toni Evans, this time on Minature Hero, while 7 combinations were equal first in the stepping stones handicap. The Pony British Novice saw a good win for Emily Cooper, following in the footsteps of Maria and Stephen her parents who have been consistent winners and supporters of British Showjumping in area 40 for many years.
Lucinda May and Owen Maxwell triumphed in the Pony Discovery while Carrbrook Special Edition teamed up with Toni Evans to win the 90cms open with Jared Just relegating her sister Hallie into 3rd place.
The Pony Progressive combined with 1m open saw a good win for Tullamore Girl and Harriet Leader-White and she headed the scope qualifiers from the progressive section.
Authorised and Lorraine Lock won the 1.10m open and the 1.15m members cup which she followed up with a couple of good placings with her novice horse the following day.
Thanks to all who supported in any way and please remember that your area shows are run by volunteers – we could always do with more help and Rosemary makes lovely cakes for everyone involved!!
