Eagles Flies High!!

ENGLISH rider Melissa Eagles made quite an impression on her first BS Guernsey Horse of the Year Show – and vice versa.

She enjoyed the experience so much at Chemin Le Roi that she had already told HOYS secretary Sarah Mills that she would be returning in future even before she won Saturday’s big senior open grand prix and then earned a share of first prize in the dramatic closing puissance.

By the end of the penultimate day, Eagles and her brilliant horse Crossways Leonard had proved unbeatable – four first places out of four.

Their reputation was certainly spreading by the start of the grand prix, too.
