CSIO5* Rome Nations Cup Squad is Announced!!

Peter Charles, Ben Maher, Nick Skelton, Robert Smith and Michael Whitaker have all been selected as the squad who will travel out to Rome, Italy next week for FEI Nations Cup. The squad will be accompanied by the World Class Showjumping Performance manager Rob Hoekstra.
Hampshire based Peter Charles will partner Olga White and Team Murka’s ten year old chestnut stallion Murka’s Nevada VI. Murka’s Nevada VI recently made his debut at this level last week in La Baule.
Ben Maher and Tripple X III have recently returned from Linz where they won the 80,000€ Grand Prix. Tripple X III is a nine year old black stallion whom Ben jointly owns with Quainton Stud. Tripple X III will be making his debut in this series.
Warwickshire’s Nick Skelton will partner Beverly Widdowson’s ten year old grey stallion, Carlo. They were also members of the La Baule FEI Nations Cup team which finished in overall fourth.
Another Warwickshire rider Robert Smith with the scopey eleven year old bay stallion Talan a horse he jointly owns with Di and Pennie Cornish. Robert and Talan were also members of the La Baule FEI Nations Cup team.
Michael Whitaker currently based at his yard in Nottingham will join his Wold Cup Qualifying horse GIG Amai II. The even year old bay gelding is owned by Beatrice Mertens. Michael and GIG Amai II were members of the winning Hickstead Nations Cup team last year.
The Nations Cup is due to take place on Friday 27th May at 16:00 CEST with the Grand Prix commencing on Sunday 29th May at 16:15 CEST. Live footage will be shown of the event on FEITV (www.feitv.org)
