Contessa Van De Zuuthoeve wins the British Showjumping Business Partnership Winter Novice Qualifier

Patchetts Equestrian Centre in Watford Hertfordshire held their Development Classic Show this weekend and competitors travelled from across the country to compete. The British Showjumping Business Partnership Winter Novice Qualifier saw seventy four combinations start in the first round built by course designer Keith Bristow.

 

The jump off saw forty combinations battle it out for the two qualifying tickets and with thirteen of those forty jumping clear again it proved to be a very competitive class. Twenty five year old Louise Pavitt was drawn fairly early on in the jump off and set the target by jumping clear in a quick time of 27.02 seconds on Brendon Studs seven year old Grey Gelding Calvalano. This proved good enough to hold on to second place only beaten by local rider seventeen year old Chloe Aston.

 

Chloe Aston from Tring, Hertfordshire was drawn around half way though the jump off and knew that Louise was the one to beat and that she needed to put in a very fast clear to hold off the remaining competitors. Riding Trina Lewis’ nine year old bay mare Contessa Van De Zuuthoeve, Chloe did what was needed and jumped a very fast clear in a time of 27.20 seconds which was just good enough to hold on the top spot.
