Cambridgeshire & Northamptonshire Junior Academy Report
Tuesday 15 January 2013

Over the last two months we have had two very good training sessions, one was at Halefield Stud and the other one was at Houghton Hall Equestrian Centre.
The training held at Halefield Stud was our Christmas training show and was run by Mia Korenika. Everyone got into the Christmas spirit by getting dressed up in fancy dress. There was a competition for the best outfit which Lila Parrat managed to win by beating off some very stiff competition and secured the prize of a goody bag and a free lesson.
In January we had a training session at Houghton Hall equestrian centre. There was three groups that worked together to build a previous grand prix course, the people who were riding (along with others who were interested) then walked the course with Mia Korenika who explained to everyone what the best approach to each jump would be and the correct line that should be taken. This gave us all the chance to be in a competition environment but with some professional advice on what we needed to improve on and whilst confirming the areas that we were doing well on.
Everyone really enjoys the training that is provided by our region as it gives us the opportunity to get involved and meet new people within the sport, whilst gaining experience and knowledge.
The Northamptonshire and Cambridgeshire will be holding another training session on the 21st February at Halefield Stud with Mathew Lanni.
