Blue Chip Feed Balancer Pony Newcomers Second Round at The College Equestrian Centre - Congratulations to Jared Lunn from Essex!!

The seventh of the Blue Chip Feed Balancer Pony Newcomers Second Rounds was held this weekend at The College Equestrian Centre in Keysoe, Bedfordshire (Saturday 7th July 2012).

Over 40 combinations started the class with the hope of claiming one of the two Horse of the Year Show (HOYS) direct qualifying tickets that were on offer.

From the 48 starters, 10 pony and rider combinations made it into the final jump off in which they all needed to produce a treble clear to be in with a chance of qualifying for the Blue Chip Feed Balancer Pony Newcomers Championship Final. Four combinations went on to achieve this.

The eventual winner of this second round was 15 year-old Jenna Palmer-Evans from Atherstone, Warwickshire. Jenna won the class aboard Byrneskill Penny, owned by Christopher Evans. The combination rode a blistering round to clear the jump off course in a time of 40.50 seconds.

Second place and subsequently, the last HOYS direct qualifying place, went to 13-year-old Jared Lunn from Hawkwell, Essex. Jared rode Richard Lunn’s pony, Ballybaloo, clear over the course in a time of 40.63 seconds.

Three combinations just missed out on their HOYS qualification, but they did take home the opportunity to compete at the Victory Shavings British Showjumping Scope Festival (26th August – 1st September 2012).
