Heather Stennett (49689) - Total number of votes: 57

Proposer:  Ann Skeet (10741) Seconder: Helen Stewart (62060)

Resume:  I have been a member of British showjumping for over twenty years enjoying my jumping in Juniors through to Young Riders and now as a Senior.  I have been lucky enough to jump at various levels both at home and abroad and feel I have a reasonable idea of what riders and horses require to both enjoy and progress in the sport.  I have also been an active committee member since I was seventeen and have been involved in training, running shows and gaining sponsorship.  Through both this and the jumping I have met a large number of people, and I would hope they would feel happy to approach, and discuss all things in jumping with me so I can put their voices forward.

OFFICIAL

Ian Clark (57132) - Total number of votes: 19

Proposer:  Julia Biddle (58673)   Seconder: Elizabeth Hearle (113573)

Resume:  Advanced course designer (the one with the pink shirt) and Judge.  Have served on local Pony Club Committee ending up D.C.  Competed in the Mid 70’s to Mid 90’s.  Have been through the pony Parent stage and now enjoying course designing around the UK getting to know how showjumping changes throughout the Region.  Still designing Pony Club and Riding Club competitions threating everyone equal.  The above hopefully shows I have a passion about our sport and would like to have the opportunity to represent the East Region as an official.

Proposer:  Sue Smith (104390) Seconder:  David Everett (38744)

Resume:  I have been a Judge for the past 11 years and been involved with British Showjumping at very many levels from competing, owning international horses, national sponsorship and show organisation.  I have judged all levels of the sport from Club Shows through to International Trials and feel very fortunate to have been mentored by some of our highest level judges.  I would like to encourage our sport to encompass a more professional outlook and assist in the education of new Judges.

Diane Ross (35299) - Total number of votes: 12

Proposed by Kerry Simson (109317) Seconded by David Neaves ( 63976)

Resume:  I have been a member of British Showjumping for most of my life, initially as a junior competing up to JA level, then a Junior Associate and for the past 30 years a senior jumping member.  I also became a full Judge in 2003 and served on the Cambridgeshire Committee from 2006 – 2009.  With this broad knowledge together with the fact that I work in a completely unrelated industry means that I can speak with some conviction for the Amateur/weekend competitor.  I am pleased to see that British Showjumping is looking to move forward and realised that it needs to reach out to the broader horse community in an attempt to dispel the elitist, dated stuffy image.  I would relish the opportunity to be a part of this redevelopment and redesign of an organisation that I have enjoyed being a member of for most of my life.

SHOW ORGANISER

Simon Bates (101124) - Unopposed

Proposer:  Joan Lewis (10220) Seconder: David Neaves (63976)

Resume:  I am keen to see British Showjumping develop as an inclusive organisation with transparency to the way decisions are made.  Quality should be rewarded and all levels of member (and potential member) catered for.

Proposer:  Colin Keeling (89135)  Seconder;  Philip Spivey (60863)

Resume:  I am passionate about showjumping in Great Britain.  I competed at lower affiliated levels, own/owned home produced horses from British Novice to Top Level Nations Cup, breed and support financially Addington British Young Horse Championships.  I spend a lot of time at both our grassroot’s and international shows, so have ideas how riders, owners, organisers, officials and breeders can work and communicate together to mutual benefit at all levels.  I believe I can bring something unique to the Members Council.  I do not earn my living from the sport; it is a passion and has been for 30 years.  I would bring genuine, current, external business expertise; my business background is as main board executive director of £200m turnover professional services firm, with 25 years client advisory experience.   Recently retired at 50 I have the ideas, passion, time and energy to give something back to the sport I love.
