BRITISH VETERAN RIDERS ENJOY SUCCESS IN DINARD

Wednesday 14 May 2014

GB Veteran riders took third place in the Team Competition in Dinard, France over the weekend.  The British quartet consisted of:Ian Wynne from Llangollen, Clwyd with Ann Wolley Dod’s fourteen year-old dark bay gelding Don Douglas, Nadine Warwick from Kilwinning, Ayrshire riding Lucinda Stewart’s eighteen year-old bay mare Kelso Lady Joicey, Ann Berry from Folkestone, Kent with her own thirteen year-old dark brown gelding Urio and
Lynda Birke from Market Drayton, Shropshire riding her own fourteen year-old brown gelding Kilrush Road.

First to go Ian finished the first round with just four penalties and came back in the second to produce a foot perfect clear round and he was followed by Lynda who chalked up superb clears in both rounds.  Nadine was next and was unlucky to accrue a single time penalty in the first round having jumped all fences in both rounds clear, and last but not least was Anne who finished the first round with a total of eight penalties and who did not compete in the second.
The GB Team consisting of Laureen Evans from Ramsgate, Kent riding her own 12 year-old grey gelding Diligence Z, Lynda riding her own seven year-old grey gelding Casanova Z and Ann riding her own seven year-old grey mare Happy Days II, then went on to win the small tour Team Competition.

That was followed by the Grand Prix; a fantastic course, with some difficult lines with Brits featuring in 4th (Ian Wynne & Don Douglas), 6th (Lynda Birke & Kilrush Road) and 12th (Nadine Warwick & Kelso Lady Joicey) places.
