Baileys Horse Feed/British Breeding/British Equestrian Federation (BEF) Futurity Evaluations

The BEF Futurity evaluation series aims to identify British bred young potential sport horses and ponies destined for careers in dressage, eventing, show-jumping or endurance, and may even find the Olympic Champions of the future. An Elite premium indicates that the young horse has the outlook and potential to compete at international level competition.

Geri Eilberg’s dressage colt Christian earned an Elite premium with a score of 9.16 in the show jumping section and was the highest placed show jumper of the day. He is by the Hannoverian stallion Christ out of Baccara Z by Bacchus Z. “I am thrilled with our first time results. The dam was my son Michael Eilberg’s good jumping mare and she has now produced a super foal for us too” said Geri.

 

The BEF’s Head of Equine Development, Jan Rogers, said:  “The futurity continues to grow and be shaped by feedback we receive and is developing into an assessment the British horse world recognises as a valuable indicator of future performance talent”

The BEF Futurity Evaluations are held at 12 venues throughout the UK and young horses go home with a BEF Premium (grade), a stylish rosette and a detailed, informative score sheet.
