Arena UK - Halloween Show 2012

 Congratulations to all those who competed at Arena UKs Halloween show last week and thank you for sending in your pictures and results! More pictures can be found on the facebook album under ‘British Showjumping – East Midlands’

There were over 130 competitors in some of the classes and competitors were drawn from all over the country to attend this prestigious pony event. Thank you to Lauren Humphries and her team for putting on such an excellent show!

The fancy dress competition was hotly contested but Saffron Leech on The Spice Master (as The Headless Horseman) took first place! 

Sophie Coolledge on her 148cm Longfield Girl came 2nd out of 57 in the Pony Discovery (DC)
 and 5th with Chloe Locke and Kylemore Conqueror in the Pumpkin Pairs on the first day, 3rd out of 45 in Newcomers (DC) on the second day and then 5th in Newcomers
3rd out of 73 in 95cm Grand Prix on day three!

Amy Atkinson had a consistent week with three double clears in British Novice including two 6th places on Tuesday and Wednesday. An unlucky 4 faults in all three Discovery classes.Thoroughly enjoyed by her and her sponsors (Mum & Dad).

Fahrran and Billie Griffiths both went clear on the first day of the Spooktacular. Billie in the 75cm Grand Prix on her new pony and Fahrran in the 95cm Grand Prix. (Pictured is Billie Griffiths).

Leah and Sophie Knowles had a fantastic two days, both Monty and Lucky got placed in the top 18 in a strong British Novice on Wednesday (both double clears) Monty was also placed 10th in British Novice on Thursday.  Sophie also went in the 75 Grand Prix on Lucky, they had some faults but for their first affiliated show, they did extremely well.

Sophie Corney has had a very busy time,  first heading to the Scottish Pony of the Year Show at Ingliston Equestrian Centre on 20- 22 October.  Sophie travelled a long 7 hours but was rewarded with three wins, one second, a third and a ninth. 

Sophie then headed to Arena UK with her four ponies Okehurst Showman, West Flight, Gooig Spirit and Ocean Breeze II and had a very successful show, gaining five 1sts, four 2nds, two 3rds and two 6ths and one 18th place.   There were fantastic prizes on offer for every class and Sophie was delighted to have won a camcorder, two DVD players, a karaoke boombox and a TV/DVD Combi!  Sophie and Ocean Breeze also won the leading rider competition for the most points gained throughout the duration of the show and won a mini quad bike.
