Two major showjumping events to be shown live on Horse & Country TV

Two of the world’s most famous showjumping classes will be broadcast live on Horse & Country TV this summer. The Rolex Grand Prix from Aachen will be shown live on the channel for the second consecutive year, while the Hickstead Derby will be televised live on H&C TV for the first time.

The Rolex Grand Prix forms the finale of the World Equestrian Festival in Aachen. Alongside Spruce Meadows and Geneva, Aachen’s Grand Prix forms part of the valuable Rolex Grand Slam of Showjumping series, and it attracts a stellar field of top horses and riders.

The action will be broadcast live on Horse & Country TV on Sunday 31 May from 12 noon in the UK and Ireland, and 1pm in The Netherlands. A 1hr highlights show will then premiere on Wednesday 3 June across H&C’s entire network, including Sweden and Australia.

Horse & Country viewers in the UK and Ireland will also be able to watch the Equestrian.com Derby at Hickstead live on Sunday 28 June. In addition, a live stream of the action will be available on www.horseandcountry.tv to viewers around the world.

“We know fans of equestrian sport love to be able to watch the action as it happens, so we’re delighted to be including two such prestigious events in to our TV schedules this summer,” said H&C TV’s Head of Programming, Jonathan Rippon. “Last year we were able to show a number of competitions live on the channel, including several legs of the Longines Global Champions Tour series, the Arena UK Grand Prix and, of course, the Rolex Grand Prix from Aachen. Our upcoming broadcasts from Aachen and the Hickstead Derby mark our commitment to showing an increasing amount of live equestrian events, both here in the UK as well as internationally.”

Other upcoming sporting highlights include highlights of the Grand Prix and Derby from La Baule this month, plus the Grand Prix and Puissance from the Piazza di Sienna in June. H&C’s coverage of the Furusiyya FEI Nations Cup continues throughout the summer with legs from Rome, Rotterdam and Falsterbo, among others, culminating in the final from Barcelona in September. Highlights of the FEI European Championships will also be available on H&C in August.

H&C is available on Sky 253 in the UK and Ireland, on cable and IPTV in The Netherlands and Sweden, and over the internet via H&C Play www.play.horseandcountry.tv
