The British Young Horse Championships 2014

The British Young Horse Championships, a showcase for British breeders and producers, held its ninth annual event over a successful four days at Addington Manor in Buckingham 14th -17th August 2014.

Phillip Miller with Shirley Light’s chestnut mare Unbelievable Lady by Unbelievable Darco out of Lady Aimee took the 7 year-old title meaning that they also picked up a place in the Horse of the Year Show Talentseekers final. Danielle Ryder with Springs Equestrian Partnership’s 7 year-old chestnut gelding Happy Boy by Kannan out of Quliena finished second in the final to also gain a HOYS Talentseekers finalist place.

Antony Condon with Paul Strafford’s chestnut stallion D Hollinwoods Rusty Ryan clinched the British Bred six-year-old.

Emma Stoker with Robert Young’s black mare Townhead Imagine De Muze took victory in the non-British Bred six year old championship

Olivia Gent on her own chestnut mare Billy on Ice by Billy Congo out of Nicool took the 5 year-old British Bred title.

Antony Condon continued his winning streak with John Hales’ grey mare Zira II by taking the 5 year-old Non-British Bred championship. This Zangersheide bred mare is by Zurich out of Dance van Koekshof.

In the four-year-old championships the European counterparts beat the British Bred as six gained double clears to share first place, compared to five British bred.
