Pony Premier Information & Updates 2018

British Showjumping is pleased to announce the creation of two new Pony Championships which will be hosted at South View EC across the dates of 6th – 7th April 2019. The two Championship Finals will take combinations who have qualified from the Pony Newcomer and Pony Foxhunter first round/1.10m Opens held at the Winter 148cm Pony Premier shows held between 1st January and 31st March 2019. The numbers to qualify and information on the classes can be found below:

Winter 1.00m Pony Championship

Top six pony/rider combinations in Newcomers section from the Pony Newcomers First Round to qualify, disregarding those already qualified, for the Winter 1.00m Pony Championship. Final to be 1.00m, Table A10.

Winter 1.10m Pony Championship

Top six pony/rider combinations from Pony Foxhunter First Round/1.10m Open to qualify, disregarding those already qualified, for the Winter 1.10m Pony Championship. If the class is split due to the number of starters then the top three combinations from each section to qualify, disregarding those already qualified. Final to be 1.10m, Table A10.

These two championships have been introduced to replace the 148cm Special Final, with a Pony 1.15m Members Cup to be held at the Pony Premiers in place of the 148cm Special qualifiers.

Alongside this, improvements have also been made to the 11 Years & Under and 128cm/138cm Handicap Special qualifiers held at the Winter 128cm/138cm Pony Premiers also commencing in January 2019.

Rule 418 - British Showjumping 11 Years & Under (Inc. The Style & Performance Qualifier)
            (1) - Pony/Rider combinations that have qualified for Horse of the Year Show (HOYS) or              Royal International Horse Show (RIHS) are not eligible to compete.

Rule 516 - 128cm/138cm Handicap Special

(1) – Pony/Rider combinations that have qualified for HOYS or RIHS are not eligible to compete.
(6)– Top three pony/rider combinations to qualify, disregarding those already qualified and ponies ridden by riders who have already qualified two ponies, qualification in accordance with Rule 290.17.

SUMMER SEASON 2019

As part of the developments to the Pony Premier circuit and in an effort to reduce the congestion within the Summer season calendar, there will now be four Summer Pony Premier and two Home Pony Shows. As a result of these changes, the numbers to qualify have been amended to the below:

Rule 407 - Pony Newcomer Second Rounds

(6) – BSNC: Top eight ponies, disregarding those already qualified, to qualify for the Pony Newcomer Masters at the British Showjumping Nations Championships (BSNC), plus those ponies that jump treble clear in a Pony Newcomer Second Round.

HOYS: Top four pony/rider combinations, disregarding those already qualified to qualify for the Pony Newcomer Championship at HOYS.

Top four pony/rider combinations, disregarding those already qualified, to qualify from the Pony Newcomer Masters at BSNC for the Pony Newcomer Championship at HOYS.

Rule 404 - Pony Foxhunter Second Rounds

(6) - BSNC: Top eight ponies, disregarding those already qualified, to qualify for the Pony Foxhunter Masters at BSNC, plus those ponies that jump treble clear in a Pony Foxhunter Second Round.

HOYS: Top four pony/rider combinations, disregarding those already qualified to qualify for
the Pony Foxhunter Championship at HOYS.

Top four pony/rider combinations, disregarding those already qualified, to qualify from the Pony Foxhunter Masters at BSNC for the Pony Foxhunter Championship at HOYS.

Rule 402 – Pony Showjumper of the Year

(6) – BSNC: Top eight ponies, disregarding those already qualified, to qualify for the
National 148cm Championship at BSNC. To be eligible for qualification, combinations must not exceed a total of four faults in the first round.

HOYS: Top four pony/rider combinations, disregarding those already qualified, to qualify for the Pony Showjumper of the Year Championship at HOYS. To be eligible for qualification, combinations must not exceed a total of four faults in the first round.

Top four pony/rider combinations, disregarding those already qualified, to qualify from the
National 148cm Championship at BSNC for the Pony Showjumper of the Year Championship at HOYS. Only those ponies that are qualified under Rule 402 are eligible to qualify, to be eligible for qualification, combinations must not exceed a total of four faults in the first round.

Rule 412 – Horse of the Year Show 128cm Qualifier

(5) - Top four pony/rider combinations, disregarding those already qualified to qualify for the
HOYS 128cm Championship at HOYS.

Rule 413 – Horse of the Year Show 138cm Qualifier

(5) - Top four pony/rider combinations, disregarding those already qualified to qualify for the
HOYS 138cm Championship at HOYS.
