Oxfordshire’s Geoff Luckett wins the Bolesworth Castle Classic Grand Prix

Wednesday 06 June 2012

The much anticipated Bolesworth Castle Classic Grand Prix was one of the key fixtures of the Bolesworth Classic 2012 Show, which took place over the course of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Bank Holiday.

The Bolesworth Castle Classic Grand Prix took place on Monday 4th June and the class attracted starters from far and wide, all of whom were hoping to take home the first prize of £6,500.

From the 31 combinations that started in the class, six went on to compete in the final jump off and the eventual winner of the class was International showjumper, Geoff Luckett, from Banbury, Oxfordshire. Geoff rode R Little Lefanie, owned by Old Lodge, to victory over the final jump off course in a time of only 36.19 seconds, giving him over half a second clear ahead of the second placed combination. Geoff’s fantastic double clear secured him the £6,500 first prize and a good day out.

Second place was filled by Anthony Condon from Nantwich, Cheshire and he produced his double clear aboard Sue Davies’ bay gelding, Special Lux. The combination achieved their second clear in a time of 36.85 seconds to clinch second place and a prize fund of £5,400.

In third after the final jump off was Tina Fletcher from Faringdon, Oxfordshire. Tina rode the third and final double clear of the competition aboard Lady Harris’ Unique IX. Tina and Unique IX completed the final jump off in a time of 39.68 seconds to take the prize fund of £3,400 awarded to third.
