Nominations Go Live For The Horse & Hound Outstanding Mare Award

As we near the end of another successful season of equestrian sport with added boosts for British bred horses, what better than to celebrate by recognising the top mares that produced the horses giving us all this success?

The nominations for the 2015 Horse & Hound Outstanding Mare Award are now open.  The award is to be presented to the breeder or associate of the mare who, in the opinion of the relevant discipline and the Awards committee, has made the greatest contribution to British bred success.

A nominated mare may have had an outstanding competition career herself or have bred a dynasty of progeny that have gone on to succeed in sport, or both. If you think you know of a mare that has made a valuable contribution to British breeding – we’d like to know about her!

The award will be presented at the annual British Breeders’ Awards Dinner, hosted and organised by the British Horse Foundation in London on 10 January 2015.

Mares do not need to be alive to be nominated. All mares nominated previously will need to be re nominated and past nominees are welcome to re submit their nominations, even if they didn’t make the shortlist in previous years

Nominations close Friday 21 November 2014
