Nicola Foad wins the Horseware Bronze League Qualifier at Bicton Arena

The penultimate Horseware Bronze League qualifier took place at Bicton Arena in Salterton Devon on Saturday and it was Nicola Foad who took the class by storm to deliver a winning performance with the only treble clear of the competition.

With forty-eight determined combinations all vying for one of the three coveted qualification spots available for the Horseware Bronze League Semi Finals, which will run in August, a competitive class unfolded. The first two rounds left just seven combinations to take on the newly shortened course, against the clock in the final jump off.

Nicola travelled from Bridgwater, Somerset with her 17 year-old black gelding, Potsdam Junior. This combination produced two consistent rounds to take their place in the jump off, where they went on to deliver the only treble clear of the class, crossing the finish line in 39.41 seconds.

Jumping into second place was Kelly White from Basingstoke, Hampshire and her 13 year-old chestnut gelding Zidane LW. With an unfortunate refusal in the middle of the course, this combination stopped the clock in 49.77 seconds with four faults.

Scooping the final qualification place on offer was Lois Robinson from Exeter Devon on board her 11 year-old dark bay mare Belhana. This partnership posted a time of 60.60 seconds with four faults to take third place.
