New association launched for equestrian employers

The Equestrian Employers Association (EEA) has been launched by the British Grooms Association; a move which for the first time, will see employers have their own dedicated organisation.

The BGA has always had the ‘support of employers’ as one of its aims and are regularly contacted by employers asking a wide range of questions, highlighting the need for such dedicated support.

Lucy Katan, Executive Director of the BGA says, “The EEA is an obvious evolvement and we are pleased to launch an organisation that equestrian employers can belong to. We understand that it can be a challenge to employ staff in the equine world for a number of reasons, and we hope this development will enable more to utilise the great support, advice and tool that is bespoke for all that employ staff.”

With many employers already signed up and supporting the EEA, Event Rider and Employer Francis Whittington says, “I am delighted to support the creation of this much needed organisation for equestrian employers, something which has been missing in our industry for a number of years. As an employer myself I recognise the huge value in the education of employers and I hope that others join the EEA.”

The EEA offers employers a complete toolkit, practical support and advice when it comes to managing your yard and employing staff, a free contract creator for members and a free legal helpline.
