JB’s Hot Stuff awarded the Twemlows British Showjumping Scholarship

Once again, Twemlows Stud, one of the UK’s leading artificial insemination and embryo transfers centres, have supported British Showjumping by offering two embryo transfers to a horse that meets their chosen criteria.

With this in mind it is Jayne Bean’s homebred 13 year-old mare, JB’s Hot Stuff, who has claimed the 2018 Twemlows British Showjumping Scholarship.

The objective of the Twemlows British Showjumping Scholarship is to encourage owners to breed from the best mares whilst they are still competing at their optimum breeding age with minimal interruption to their competition career. The criteria set is that the horse to be awarded be the highest placed British Bred mare at the end of the previous year on the British Showjumping Top Horse League who was also eligible for British Team selection during the same period disregarding any previous winners.

JB’s Hot Stuff claimed the scholarship following her performances with both Michael Whitaker earlier in the year before brother John took the ride over in October. JB’s Hot Stuff herself jumped a second round clear in the Nations Cup at Falsterbo last July with Michael before John took the ride over in October. She was also regularly placed at a number of 5* shows in 2018 and these results included a 3rd and a 4th in two FEI Jumping World Cup Qualifiers which lead to her qualification for the final. JB’s Hot Stuff also achieved clears in Global Champions Tour competitions. Her final show of 2018 was at the end of December at the CSI4* Liverpool International Horse Show where she jumped a first round clear in the Grand Prix to finish 7th.

JB’s Hot Stuff is by Locarno 62, who won a Team Bronze at the 2007 European Championships in Mannheim with Ellen Whitaker and who competed regularly on Nations Cup with great success.
