Hayley Lewis Scoops Top Spot in the Dodson & Horrell 0.85m National Amateur Second Round at Epworth Equestrian Centre

With an effortless performance, Hayley Lewis from Scunthorpe, Lincolnshire scooped top spot on Sunday in the Dodson & Horrell 0.85m National Amateur Second Round held at Epworth Equestrian Centre in Doncaster, South Yorkshire following a thrilling five horse jump off.

As the Dodson & Horrell National Amateur Championships, held at Aintree Equestrian Centre in Liverpool between the 16th – 20th November, loom ever closer, qualification was at the forefront of everyone’s minds.

Riding her own 7 year-old bay mare, Handel The Millions, Hayley really showcased their ability as she steered them straight in to first place. Setting the standard from the first draw, this pair posted a double clear in a scorching 40.91 seconds. 

Taking second place in style was Carolyn Goldstraw from Sheffield, South Yorkshire who rode her 13 year-old brown mare, Wuranessa II to a double clear in 44.31 seconds.

Erika Green from High Peak, Derbyshire took third place with the final double clear of the class. Riding her own 5 year-old bay mare, Lumbbrook Lilly, this pair crossed the finish line in 49.29 seconds.
