Georgina Burchmore-Eames Becomes the NAF Shining Star for August 2016

Earning her nomination by displaying a willingness to learn and help others, 16 year-old Georgina Burchmore-Eames from Northchurch, Hertfordshire, has proved she is truly deserving of the NAF Shining Star Award for August 2016!

Georgina was nominated for the award by Lead Coach for the Central Region Junior Academy, Mandy Mcglynn, who had this to say about her nominee “Georgie has been a member of the academy since she was riding 128cm ponies. Her polite and sunny disposition makes her a popular member with the other children as well as the adults. She is always willing to help when asked, often offering before being asked! Her ponies and horses are always turned out to a high standard and she has been rewarded with many successes in the ring; she is definitely one to watch for the future.”

Georgina joined British Showjumping in 2008 and since then she has grown in confidence and ability. She has had the chance to ride a variety of ponies and has found that the guidance from Mandy and the Central Region Academy has been invaluable as she has gone on to qualify for a number of Championships over the years.

Upon finding out she had become a NAF Shining Star, a delighted Georgina summed up her time as an Academy participant “I am very pleased to receive this award! My main ambition this year was to qualify for Horse of the Year Show (HOYS) as it is my last year on ponies and both Mandy and the academy have provided continuous support. I am looking forward to competing at HOYS and starting my career as a senior next year.”

Melissa Newman, NAF Brand Manager, further commented “Georgie has proven that the devil really is in the detail. Being polite and proactively helpful as well as caring about her and lovely ponies’ appearance really does pay off. Georgie’s achievements to date are very impressive and we wish her all the best at HOYS where we are sure she will continue to shine! Well done Georgie.”

Georgina will kindly receive some NAF equine products to use alongside the supplements that she currently uses.

The NAF Shining Star Award was introduced when NAF became a British Showjumping Business Partner. The award is for members of a Junior Academy who have shown a great deal of commitment, progression and outstanding behaviour along with their riding ability and much more. Riders are nominated by their lead coach, and then judged and awarded by NAF to one person each month.
