The Charles Britton Equestrian Construction Winter JA Classic Qualifiers at SouthView Equestrian Centre in Winsford, Cheshire were won by Faye Sutton and Nicole Lockhead Anderson. The riders took a victory apiece after producing precise clear rounds on board their respective rides. 

Each and every rider contesting the qualifiers was focused on securing a sought after qualification spot for the prestigious Charles Britton Equestrian Construction Winter JA Classic Championship, which will be held during the British Masters International Horse Show, also at SouthView Equestrian Centre (30th June - 2rd July 2017).

Charles Britton Equestrian Construction Winter JA Classic Qualifier – Saturday 14th January 2017

Fourteen year-old Faye Sutton from Whitchurch, Shropshire headed Saturday’s qualifier after producing the sole double clear of the class. From a keen line up of thirty-four competitors, Faye was one of only four to make it through to the second round and she rode Jacqueline Sutton’s 13 year-old dun gelding, Robe Ruadh, with accuracy and pace to deliver their double clear in 36.70 seconds.

Second place was taken by fourteen year-old Tahnia Jordan Jones who made the journey from Swindon, Wiltshire with Julie Jordan’s 13 year-old bay gelding, Sulan Hollywood Knight. This pair finished on a total of 4 faults in 35.14 seconds after rolling an unfortunate pole around the midway point of their round.    

Kiarra Hulme, aged fifteen, from Dobcross, Oldham scooped third place with Cashmira III, a 9 year-old grey mare owned by Andrew Hulme. This combination crossed the finish line with 4 faults in 35.83 seconds.

1st Faye Sutton & Robe Ruadh – 0/0 – 36.70 seconds
2nd Tahnia Jordan Jones & Sulan Hollywood Knight – 0/4 – 35.14 seconds
3rd Kiarra Hulme & Cashmira III – 0/4 – 35.83 seconds

Charles Britton Equestrian Construction Winter JA Classic Qualifier – Sunday 15th January 2017

Nicole Lockhead Anderson, aged fourteen, from Banchory, Aberdeenshire won this qualifier on board Didy Morgan’s 9 year-old piebald mare, Pochantas. This partnership were the only combination able to deliver a double clear and they crossed the finish line in 40.79 seconds.

Securing second place was Isabelle Ryder from Thatcham, Berkshire who rode Mullingar Bay, a 9 year-old bay gelding owned by Simon Ryder to a speedy finish. The pair were unfortunate to knock the final fence and this left them to finish on 4 faults in 38.07 seconds.

Third spot was taken by Antonia Platt from Chelmsford, Essex. Antonia rode Rosalind Platt’s 12 year-old bay mare, Sligo Furisto Flight and she finished on a total of 4 faults in 40.17 seconds.

1st Nicole Lockhead Anderson & Pochantas – 0/0 – 40.79 seconds
2nd Isabelle Ryder & Mullingar Bay – 0/4 – 38.07 seconds
3rd Antonia Platt & Sligo Furisto Flight – 0/4 – 40.17 seconds
