Eleanor Barnwell Claims the Top Spot in the Nupafeed Supplements Senior Discovery Second Round at Dorset Showground

Eleanor Barnwell climbed to the top of the table in Saturday’s Nupafeed Supplements Senior Discovery Second Round at Dorset Showground. Riding Billy Crisp, Eleanor has secured her appearance in the prestigious Championship Final which will be held at the British Showjumping National Championships in August.

With this class being one of the final qualifiers of the season, each of the twenty-nine competitors had their sights firmly set on producing a treble clear to book a place in the final. The first two rounds whittled the numbers down until just fifteen were left to battle it out in the final jump off.

Eleanor from Petworth, West Sussex rode Sarah Barnwell’s 8 year-old chestnut mare to victory after producing three consistently fast rounds. This pair crossed the finish line in the final jump off with all of the fences still standing in 35.59 seconds.

Second place was claimed by Alex Valentine from Sailsbury, Wiltshire as he steered Jabeena Maslin’s 8 year-old bay mare, Hanleen Darcy, smoothly round the course to gain his treble clear in 36.64 seconds.

Scooping up third place was Kathryn Ellison from Beaminster, Dorset and she rode the 5 year-old grey gelding Lord Pepper, owned by Lucy Blake. This pair posted their a treble clear in 37.00 seconds.

With another six combinations also achieving a treble clear, a total of nine combinations now go forward to the Nupafeed Supplements Senior Discovery Championship Final.
