Twenty-seven competitors came forward to contest this second round and the jump off proved to be competitive after nineteen combinations produced a first round clear. Thirteen double clears were eventually produced, but with just twelve direct qualifying places available, the clock proved to be absolutely pivotal in deciding the allocation of the qualification.

Estella Harrowing, 16, from Whitby, North Yorkshire took victory on her mother Wendy’s 7 year-old piebald gelding Dereks Choice. Having been drawn fifth to go in the jump off, the combination set the pace early on after producing their double clear in 35.03 seconds and this was to prove unbeatable.

Second place was taken by 32 year-old Charlotte Hamer from Bolton, Lancashire with her own 12 year-old bay gelding Camiro Z. They produced their double clear in 36.71 seconds to book their spot in the Championship Final.

Third place went to 14 year-old Kate Samuel from Tarporley, Cheshire on Maddison IV, a 17 year-old bay mare owned by Martha Newall. This combination took their place in the top three after delivering their double clear in 38.40 seconds.

An additional nine riders also went on to secure their qualification for the Dodson & Horrell 0.95cm National Amateur Championship Final.

Dodson & Horrell 1.05m National Amateur Second Round.
Spectators saw eighteen combinations contest this second round, eleven of whom went on to compete in the jump off. Six combinations then went on to secure a double clear and the clock was to become crucial in deciding the final line-up.

The win in this second round was taken by Nicole Jebson, 22, from Holmfirth, West Yorkshire and she took victory on her own 6 year-old chestnut gelding Pepperdan. The combination was seventh to go in the jump off and after seeing four double clears already produced before them, they knew that to be in with a shot of taking one of the top places, only a fast double clear would do. They duly achieved this with a double clear in 32.15 seconds.

Adam Stanley, 17, from Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire took second place with his own 9 year-old bay mare Lydia. They followed Nicole and Pepperdan in the order for the jump off and went on to produce their double clear in 33.26 seconds.

Third place was taken by 33 year-old Danielle Perez from Great Altcar, Manchester and she was riding Dooneens Azamour, an 8 year-old grey mare owned by Gloria Burke. This combination took their place in the top three after delivering their double clear in 34.92 seconds.

A further eight riders also achieved their qualification for the Dodson & Horrell 1.05m National Amateur Championship Final.

She took victory in this second round, this time on her own 19 year-old chestnut gelding Novex. Drawn as the final combination to go in the jump off, the combination delivered a quick double clear in 35.57 seconds to secure the top spot.
