Chard Equestrian to celebrate fifth year of sponsorship of the British Showjumping Bristol & Somerset Academy

Following four successful years of sponsorship, Chard Equestrian, an equestrian venue situated in the Somerset countryside, will be celebrating another year of alignment with the British Showjumping Bristol & Somerset Academy.

Chard Equestrian holds regular British Showjumping shows and their competition calendar includes Just for Schools and Club classes as well as National. This year will see Chard Equestrian host three Category 3 shows including National 1.40 competitions, and the venue has also been chosen as the location for the Bristol & Somerset Area and Academy shows. Competitors enjoy jumping on the 65m x 90m Equestrian Surfaces Cushion Track Arena and spending downtime in the clubhouse, which contains the restaurant, bar and shop and allows full undercover viewing of the arena.

British Showjumping has a number of Academies for based all over the UK and the aim is to provide progressive coaching using experienced British Showjumping Coaches. The Junior Academies combine promoting the development of riding skills and horse management with teamwork.

Jane Gregory, Director at Chard Equestrian, commented “Chard Equestrian is pleased to continue its support of the Bristol & Somerset Academy for 2019 as it really is an important part of the sport for young riders in this area. I am delighted to be able to continue putting something back into a sport which is my passion and this sponsorship adds to the support that we give the Winter Grades B & C Championship which is sponsored by our other company, The Champagne Cave.”

Anne Newbery, British Showjumping Development Officer for the South West added “I’m hugely grateful to Chard Equestrian for continuing their sponsorship of the Bristol & Somerset Academy for an incredible fifth year! Chard Equestrian’s continued support is much appreciated and the Academy continues to go from strength to strength under the expert guidance of Jayne Smart and Alison Tutt. The Academy is planning both mounted and unmounted events and training throughout the year and is again hosting an Academy show at Chard Equestrian in September.”
