British pony riders dominate the podium in Lamprechtshausen Grand Prix

Monday 21 May 2018

The British pony riders continued to do their country proud today when taking the top two podium places in the Lamprechtshausen Grand Prix at the Sportridingclub Lamprechtshausen in Austria.

Following on from their win in yesterday’s Nations Cup, this was the final competition for the Ponies who have been competing under the title sponsor banner of Team LeMieux.

Fifteen year-old Shaunie Greig from Dunfermline, Fife fought off the challenge from twenty-four other competitors to take first place on Casino Royale, a 15 year-old bay gelding owned by Anne Greig. Shaunie piloted her mount to a double clear yesterday and she achieved this once again today, doing so in 37.86 seconds.

It was 13 year-old Claudia Moore from Brentwood, Essex who went on to take second on Elando Van De Roshoeve, a 14 year-old bay gelding owned by Katrina Moore. Claudia also secured a fantastic double clear and clocked hers in 40.35 seconds.

Third place went to Milla Lou Jany Polizzi (ITA) with Donja. They also finished with a double clear in 41.68 seconds.

Fellow Brits Hannah Barker with Ammanvalley Santino and Nicole Lockhead Anderson with Gangnam Style II also qualified for the jump off and finished in 5th and 7th place respectively.

The Chef d’Equipe accompanying the squad was Clare Whitaker.
