Aiming for a clear round with McCormick tractors at the British Showjumping National Championships & Stoneleigh Horse Show

It won’t be just the horses showing their agility at one of this year’s leading showjumping events. A trio of McCormick tractors will be in action at the British Showjumping National Championships & Stoneleigh Horse Show which takes place from the 8th – 13th of August – although they will be weaving around the demanding jumps rather than over them!

As the official tractor suppliers of the event, the McCormick X2 compact tractors will be hard at work keeping the stable area clean and tidy, performing duties in the main ring and tackling various tasks during build-up and break-down.

“We’re delighted to be supporting this major event in the showjumping calendar,” says Ray Spinks, Sales Director and General Manager at McCormick distributor AgriArgo UK. “We have a number of customers in the equestrian community who use our compact and small agricultural tractors for stable yard and paddock management work so it’s very appropriate that we’re involved.”

The ‘McCormick’ name is synonymous with big powerful tractors originally produced for the wide open plains of North America. But today’s range also includes smaller machines ideally suited to work in stable yards and paddocks thanks to their durability, agility and ease of use.

The 44-54hp McCormick X2, 64-100hp X4 and 85-113hp X5 series tractors can be operated on turf or traction tyres, and are equipped with all the features needed to operate key implements such as rolls, harrows, sweepers and trailers. They can be had with an open platform making it easy for operators to jump on and off or a cab providing full weather protection. A neat layout of the controls makes the tractors easy to use by novice and experienced drivers alike.

One of the three McCormick X2 tractors at the BSNC & Stoneleigh Horse Show will be equipped with a newly-introduced hydraulic loader for materials handling. The machines will also be engaged on trailers and keeping the arena in good shape for some highly competitive jumping.

Hundreds of competitors have set out to qualify for The British Showjumping National Championships, which along with the Stoneleigh Horse Show, are being held at the NEAC Stoneleigh, Stoneleigh Park in Warwickshire, with several Horse of the Year Show qualifiers up for grabs.

The show culminates on Sunday afternoon (13th August) with the British Showjumping Business Partnership International Stairway Final and the crowning of the British Showjumping National Champion 2017.
