Chloe Reynolds takes the top spot in The Champagne Cave Winter Grades B&C at Onley Grounds Equestrian Centre

The Champagne Cave Winter Grades B & C Championship Qualifier held at Onley Grounds Equestrian Centre in Warwickshire was claimed by Chloe Reynolds from Bridgwater, Somerset.

Forty-five competitors came forward hoping to snatch one of the two qualifying tickets on offer for the Championship Final which will be held at the prestigious Royal International Horse Show at Hickstead, West Sussex in July. Twenty-three made it through to the jump-off and eleven produced double clears.

Chloe piloted Jane Reynolds’ Grenadier Volo, an 8 year-old bay gelding, to first place. Chloe has produced the gelding herself for the last four years and in this qualifier, she ensured that the pair jumped all of the fences clear in the quickest time to cross the finish line with 1.27 seconds in hand.

Laura Mantel from Reading, Berkshire steered Muna VD Bisschop, a 7 year-old dark bay mare owned by Sally Jobson Scott into second place. They delivered their double clear in 43.17 seconds.

The Champagne Cave:
The Champagne Cave was set up in order to source the best vintages from small niche growers in France and is now predominantly supplied by small family run vineyards. The company regularly visits the Champagne region to check on the produce and witness the production process first hand. The Champagne Cave has handpicked some of the finest champagnes, many of which are not found for sale elsewhere in the UK. Their ‘clos’ wines are from one of the few remaining walled garden vineyards whilst their Grand Cru magnum champagnes are made by a grower who only produces 500-1000 magnums a year. Shop the selection via www.thechampagnecave.co.uk.
