December 2009 - Guy Williams

GUY WILLIAMS IS SHOW JUMPER OF THE MONTH DECEMBER 2009

Guy Williams from Stelling Minnis near Canterbury, Kent has been voted British Showjumping’s Show Jumper of the Month for December 2009. Guy riding his own 13 year old bay gelding Torinto van de Middelstede won the Grand Prix at CSI5*-W Mechelen, Belgium immediately following Christmas. This achievement the panel felt warranted the December Show Jumper of the Month award making it the second time this year, and the third time overall, that Guy has received this valued accolade.

November 2009 - Michael Whitaker

MICHAEL WHITAKER IS NOVEMBER SHOW JUMPER OF THE MONTH

Michael Whitaker from Watton, Nottinghamshire has been voted British Showjumping’s Show Jumper of the Month for November 2009. During the month of November Michael had two excellent international wins the Big Ben International Challenge in Toronto, Canada with Insul Tech Wonami van den Aard and he won the World Cup qualifier in Verona, Italy with Insul Tech Amai, these wins were so exceptional that the panel awarded him the title of Show Jumper of the Month for November.

October 2009 - Bruce Menzies

BRUCE MENZIES IS OCTOBER SHOW JUMPER OF THE MONTH 2009

Bruce Menzies from Slinfold, Horsham, West Sussex has been voted British Showjumping’s Show Jumper of the Month for October. Following his meteoric rise to fame at the 2009 Horse of the Year Show riding Old Lodge’s 7 year old grey gelding Sultan V to win both the Horse & Hound Foxhunter and HOYS Grade C classes the panel felt the Show Jumper of the Month award was well deserved.

Bruce has ridden the Old Lodge’s home bred gelding throughout his career from British Novice through to this crowning glory to date, but watch this space there is much more to come from this combination.

September 2009 - Pippa Allen

PIPPA ALLEN IS BRITISH SHOWJUMPING’S SHOW JUMPER

OF THE MONTH SEPTEMBER 2009

16 year old Pippa Allen from Thornaby, Stockton-on-Tees, Cleveland has been voted British Showjumping’s Show Jumper of the Month for September 2009 in recognition of her wins with Maradonna at the British Showjumping/Scope Festival in the Dunglen 148cm Championship and her Grand Prix win at CSIP Barbizon, her win at the Festival makes it the third time she has held this title.

Pippa now moves onto horses and is hoping that a “fairy godmother” will come along with a Young Riders horse for her to compete on next year!

CHAD FELLOWS IS BSJA SHOW JUMPER OF THE MONTH AUGUST 2009

16 year old Chad Fellows from Weston under Lizard, near Shifnal Shropshire has been voted BSJA Show Jumper of the Month for August 2009 in recognition of his Pony European Individual bronze medal won at Moorsele, Belgium. Chad riding Mrs Amanda Hilliard’s 12 year old, 14.2hh bay gelding Snatch upheld Britains honour and fought hard to claim the individual bronze medal .

July 2009 - Jemma Kirk

JEMMA KIRK IS BSJA SHOW JUMPER OF THE MONTH JULY 2009

21 year old Jemma Kirk from Bo’Ness in Scotland has been voted BSJA Show Jumper of the Month for July 2009 in recognition of her Young Rider European Individual gold medal won at Hoofddorp, Netherlands. Jemma riding her father Roberts 13 year old bay gelding Wexford, whom she has been riding since May 2008, won the gold medal by quite a large margin from Igor Kawaik of France (silver) and Manjuel Anon Suarez of Spain (bronze).

June 2009 - William Funnell

WILLIAM FUNNELL IS BSJA SHOW JUMPER OF THE MONTH JUNE 2009

William Funnell from Forest Green, Dorking, Surrey has been voted BSJA Show Jumper of the Month for June 2009 in recognition of his third Hickstead Derby win. William riding Julie Slade’s15 year old, 17hh bay gelding Mondriaan won his third Hickstead Derby in June. This achievement, as only the 9^th rider in it’s history to win the Derby 3 or more times, the panel felt warranted the June Show Jumper of the Month award.

May 2009 - John Whitaker MBE

JOHN WHITAKER IS BSJA SHOW JUMPER OF THE MONTH MAY 2009

John Whitaker MBE from Cumberworth near Huddersfield, West Yorkshire has been voted BSJA Show Jumper of the Month for May 2009 following in the footsteps of son Robert who won the title in April. John riding Rebecca Stones 12 year old bay stallion Peppermill won the Global Champions Tour Grand Prix in Valencia and also jumped a double clear on the Meydan FEI Nations Cup team in Rome This achievement the panel felt warranted the May Show Jumper of the Month award making it the fourth time, in it’s existence, that John has received this valued accolade.

ROBERT WHITAKER IS BSJA SHOW JUMPER OF THE MONTH APRIL 2009

Robert Whitaker from Cumberworth near Huddersfield, West Yorkshire has been voted BSJA Show Jumper of the Month for April 2009. Robert riding his mother Clare’s 14 year old bay gelding Lacroix 9 made British Open history when he won the British Open Championship for the third time in it’s history. This achievement the panel felt warranted the April Show Jumper of the Month award making it the third time, in it’s existence, that Robert has received this valued accolade.

This achievement the panel felt warranted the March Show Jumper of the Month award making it the second time that Guy has received this valued accolade.

TIM STOCKDALE IS SHOW JUMPER OF THE MONTH FOR FEBRUARY 2009

Tim Stockdale from Roade, Northamptonshire has been voted BSJA Show Jumper of the Month for February 2009. Tim’s spectacular win riding his Olympic partner, John Boshers 12 year old grey mare, Fresh Direct Corlato in the Grand Prix in Vigo Spain at the beginning of the month, was felt to make him a deserving winner of the award.

January 2009 - Matthew Sampson

MATTHEW SAMPSON IS SHOW JUMPER OF THE MONTH FOR JANUARY 2009

18 year old Matthew Sampson who is based with Duncan Inglis in Haywards Heath, West Sussex has been voted BSJA Show Jumper of the Month for January 2009. This is the first time that Matthew has been awarded this honour in it’s history.

The panel felt that Matthew was a very worthy winner having travelled all the way to Australia and jumped with his team mates on borrowed horses to win a team and individual bronze medal.
